Samiflex elastomeric coupling — assembled hub and insert detail

Just Four Parts. No Bolts. No Nuts.

A Samiflex coupling breaks down to four components: two matched hubs (cast iron, cast steel or aluminium, with four, six or eight teeth depending on the size), a machined polyurethane insert that sits between them, and a retaining ring that locks the whole assembly together. There's nothing to bolt or fasten — the insert is split so it can be fitted and removed without ever moving the hubs themselves.

Change the Insert Without Touching the Drive

Once the hubs and retaining ring are installed and aligned on the shafts, they stay there for the working life of the equipment — no further adjustment needed. When the elastic insert eventually needs replacing, the retaining ring simply lifts off and the insert slides out from between the hub teeth. No special tools, no undoing fasteners, and no need to move either the driving or driven equipment to do it. Centrifugal force does the rest once the coupling is running, holding the insert tight inside the ring.

Engineered for Continuous Duty

Samiflex couplings need no lubrication or scheduled maintenance over the life of the insert, and because there's no metal-to-metal contact between the hubs, they run smoother and last longer under load. The polyurethane insert resists chemical attack and is rated across a working temperature range of -40°C to 80°C as standard, with a high-temperature option good to 150°C. The full range carries ATEX approval for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, and each hub can be rotated independently for motor testing before final assembly.

Matched to Your Load, Not a Generic Spec

Every application puts a different kind of stress through a coupling, so Samiflex inserts are offered in three compound types and four hardness ratings — from a standard 95 Shore A insert through to high-performance HD and HDT variants that lift torque capacity by up to 40%. Conshor sizes every coupling against your driver's kW and rpm, your service factor, and your shaft/bore requirements, so what you get is matched to the equipment it's actually running on, not a one-size-fits-all part off the shelf.

Technical Specifications

Typical duties include pumps, fans, conveyors and general mechanical drives across general industry, chemical processing, water treatment and pulp and paper — anywhere shock absorption and easy maintenance matter more than rigid alignment.

Samiflex Flexible Shaft Connecting Couplings

Samiflex Flexible Shaft Connecting Couplings

Coupling designed to connect and transmit torque between two shafts while tolerating a degree of misalignment, reducing the load transferred to bearings and gearboxes on either side. Covers a range of flexible coupling designs — pin-and-bush, tyre and disc types are common examples — selected to suit the application’s torque, misalignment and shock-load requirements.
