Safety overload coupling that disconnects or slips when torque exceeds a pre-set limit, protecting gearboxes, motors and driven equipment from damage during a jam or overload event. Available as friction/slip designs that reset automatically once the overload clears, ball or roller detent types that disengage precisely and reset by hand, and shear-pin types for a one-time sacrificial trip. Can be combined with a sprocket, pulley or flexible coupling, and fitted with a proximity switch to stop the drive automatically when it trips.

Common on conveyors, packaging and bottling lines, printing presses and indexing drives — anywhere a jam or blockage needs to trip the drive before it breaks a gearbox, shaft or coupling downstream.
