Specifications

Caliper-actuated disc brake rated for continuous service braking or fail-safe emergency stops, fitted to conveyor drives, winches and mill equipment. Fail-safe units are spring-applied and hydraulically or thruster-released, clamping automatically on power loss; service brakes apply on demand for controlled stopping and holding. Actuation options include hydraulic, pneumatic and spring-applied fail-safe.

Found on crane and winch hoist motions, conveyor drives in mining and quarrying, mine winders, elevators and marine propulsion — the common thread being equipment where an uncontrolled movement on power loss would be dangerous.
