Rigid Flange Couplings
Two matched flanges, spigot-and-recess located for concentricity, are bolted face-to-face with fitted bolts to join shaft ends into a single rigid line shaft. Bores are keyed or shrink-fit, and because nothing in the coupling absorbs misalignment, the connected shafts need to be aligned precisely before it’s fitted.

Common on vertical turbine pumps, vertical mixers and other equipment where the coupling itself has to support shaft weight, and on any high-speed pump or compressor line where precise alignment is non-negotiable to avoid vibration.
