Maina Gear Spindle Couplings
Telescopic gear spindle coupling used on rolling mill stands, combining a gear coupling’s misalignment tolerance with a sliding telescopic shaft for roll-change clearance. Crowned gear teeth accommodate the large misalignment angles a roll stand sees in service, and a telescopic length lets the spindle extend for roll changes without disconnecting the drive. The mill-side end connects to the roll neck via a slipper/wobbler or shrink-fit arrangement.

Used on hot strip mills, cold rolling lines, continuous casters, straightening presses and other roll-stand drives, where the connection has to survive shock loading every time material enters the roll gap and still come apart cleanly for a roll change.
